Woke at 4:00 with Evan to nurse him and get him back to sleep. Went downstairs around 4:30 to check on the snow and we had about 7 inches or so. When I woke up in the morning for good at 7 am it had switched over to rain and sleet so it made it look like we hardly got anything. Wish I had taken a picture at 4:30!
Craig is working from home today due to snow and most likely will tomorrow as well.
The thing about having two babies under the age of two that are NOT twins is that you CONSTANTLY have rotating babies. For example, here’s how today has gone so far:
7:00 am: Wake with Evan. Feed him a bottle, go downstairs and get a coffee & play with Evan while I drink it.
7:45 am: Start crockpot meal food dinner tonight.
8:00 am: Put Evan down for a nap and upstairs and do about a half hour of research for logo design for the new blog I’d like to start.
8:45 am: Decide to grab a quick shower while both boys are sleeping.
9:00 am: I get out of the shower and put my wet hair in a clip. Go check on the boys, and both are awake. Change them both.
9:15 am: Feed Cameron breakfast.
9:30 am: Feed Evan botttle.
9:45 am: “story time” reading both boys books.
10:00 am: Dishes from my breakfast, the boys, and from Craig (who’s working from home).
10:15 am: put Evan down for a nap.
10:30 am: Put away laundry.
10:45 am: put on 15 minute episode of “Jake and the Neverland Pirates” for Cameron before nap-time. He’s only allowed 30 minutes a day IF AT ALL - usually when I’m stuck doing something like putting Evan down for a nap and need Cameron to be quietly entertained.
11:00 am: put Cameron down for nap. Evan is now awake. With one hand closing the door to Cameron’s room, I’m using the other hand to open the door to Evan’s room to go get him.
11:15 am: Put Evan in Johnny Jump Up in my office so that I can take a moment to make list of what’s happened so far today.
11:30 am: Play with Evan who’s sick of jumpy seat ;)
11:45: bills
12:00: feed evan bottle
12:15: lunch for me
12:30: send Brenda PL gallery info, attempt to get PL free downloads from Pinterest.
1:00: Evan for nap. As soon as I put Evan down, I hear Cameron wake up. I listen to him talk to himself
1:15: Cameron calls for me. Go get him, play in his room for a bit finding “tutu” (toothbrush) and bring him in to do puzzles in my office.
1:30: Evan wakes up - diapers for everyone.
1:45: boys downstairs, prep lunch for Cameron.
2:00: Finally get Cameron into his seat for lunch.
2:30: Just finished feeding Cameron, now it’s time for Evan to eat again. Feed him and put him in the jumpy seat.
2:45: Get bundled up to go out in the snow with Cameron.
3:00: Go out in the snow with Cameron. Leave Evan inside with Craig.
3:15: Bring Cameron back inside. The snow is so wet that my boots were filled with water. Slushy feet. Evan is crying. Get myself and Cameron un-bundled and go get Evan down for a nap.
3:30: Get bed and bottle ready for Cameron so he can go down for a nap.
4:00: just got Cameron into bed.
It went on from there, but I didn’t have time to record it. By the end of the day I had lost my patience when Evan wouldn’t take his bottle (about 5 attempts to feed him) even though he was hungry. He finally pooped up his back - which is what I suppose was making him so fussy - and I had to take him directly to the tub. I was so frustrated that after bed time for the boys, I locked myself in my office and downloaded and organized free Project Life printables for four. hours. straight. Even this was a frustrating task… apparently I need sleep.
