Yes, I don't have a problem putting things up on the wall or creating a faux built-in if I could. My problem is that I am still trying to figure out where to put things. I was thinking about moving the guinea pigs to the window wall, but my hubby thinks it might get too cold there for them in the winter. Then I thought that I could move the dog's kennel to the windows (and put my scrap table where it is as it is currently in the laundry where some of my other scrap/craft things are, but once again, we worry about it getting too cold in winter and we like the fact that we can close up the laundry when we have guests over. I then suggested that we clean out the garage for my scrap area, but I worry about the temperatures there too. I am trying to keep the dog kennel out of my room, if at all cost....lol.
Hi! I also live in a rental so cannot mess up the walls with shelving, peg board or anything built-in. We see so many great custom made spaces that is can be discouraging. I guess we have to start with knowing what we have (as in type and quantity of product). Before I packed I did a major purge of product and tools to avoid moving stuff I really wasn't ever going to use. Now I'm asking myself, "What worked in my last space?" and I'm letting that guide designing my new room. The Get Organized class is great to see different possibilities. Though, overwhelming!
We moved into this rental house in January 2014 and so far, this is the only space I have for my scrap area. I share this area with our Guinea Pigs. I have no wall space and most of my items are stored in the laundry room.
