I have done something similar with the large mailer boxes from the post office. They're perfect for 12x12 paper and I feel good because I am recycling.
I do the same thing with the flat rate boxes from the post office that I get! I cut the sides at an angle, use spray adhesive on them and cover them with pretty patterned wrapping paper.
Don't credit me with the idea, but my vertical storage is made out of (un-used) pizza boxes. What can I say- I'm cheap, but I just couldn't justify spending my scrapbook supply money on my scrapbook organization.
The boxes go all the way up in the back but I cut them at an angle in the front, just like the fancy ones on SB.com that range from $4-7/each. I taped them up with Duct Tape and color coded them. Saving $40-$70 YAY!!
