Great two page layout, what a cool place to visit.. Ironic that it's in a dry county, seems weird those even exist anymore, but we are in a semi dry one ourselves. I love the journaling, such cool little facts.
Great design, great pics and great choice of papers. Also love all the info. I find that there are so many places close to home to visit if we search them out.
So interesting! I work part time in a liquor store and and have very little knowledge of the liquor end of it. I will be able to share some of these facts with customers and they might think I know something, lol! Great job on the LO!
Can you believe we've lived in TN for over 20 years and a week ago was the first time we visited the Jack Daniels Distillery? And it's only 1.5 hours from our house. Crazy.
I took a bunch of photos, but thought these represented the overall trip. I have journaling on the back too as it was way too long to fit on the front, it reads:
We took the tour and learned so many interesting things about the distillery: -Jack Daniels Distillery is the oldest registered distillery in the US. Established in 1866. -It is the highest selling American whiskey in the world. -All around the property the tree trunks are black. Our guide told us it's natural flora & fauna that is fed by the distillery. In fact, you (and the law) can tell if there is a still nearby by following the increasing blackness of the tree trunks. I guess that's why a lot of still operators move it all the time. -None of the “waste” goes into landfills. The mash, once done with making whiskey, is sold to local cow farmers (we must have some ‘happy' cows in TN). All the barrels are made there and used once. They are then sold to local businesses who make everything from recipe boxes, planters, and gun racks, to chairs & tables. They make their own charcoal there & use the 140 proof whiskey to light it and burn it down so it won't have a petroleum taste to the product. Once that charcoal is used (every 6mo) it is sold and a company makes grilling/smoking briquettes out of it (we bought 2 bags in one of the stores in Lynchburg). -It is made in a DRY county- they sell "bottles" in their gift shop & fill it with whiskey "for" you ;)
I also printed a more detailed history of the distillery off of Wikipedia & it covered much of what our tour guide told us, but not all of it. Our guide was a retired VA nurse & she didn't want to stay home, so she came to work there as a guide. She was so much fun & told us cute stories & facts about the distillery. I can't believe it took us so long to go there. A worthwhile stop if you come to middle TN for sure.
The pps are all from CTMH Timberline pack. I used the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy cart for the title cut, the circle, large arrow, flags & the scalloped bg behind the photos on the left. I stamped the title, the globe, the date, geo tag and the 3 smaller arrows.
Thanks for stopping by & leaving a comment. Have a blessed day.
