After walking and walking around Olympia and then walking some more I was tired and my knee was ready to rebel. We still had to walk back to the place where our tour bus was scheduled to pick us up and I was dreading having to take another step!

Then Bill spotted a horse and carriage taking people from the Olympia archeological site to the bus area and he negotiated a good price for us so we got taken back in style! He knows I love horse and carriage rides.

Before we left the ship that morning Bill had made 4 ham sandwiches and put them in our backpack. We sat on the very back row on the bus and shared our sandwiches and some Cokes that Bill had bought with our friend Donna. We were starving and I don’t know when I ever enjoyed a ham sandwich so much!

When we got back to Katakolon we still had a couple hours before it was time to be back on the ship so we enjoyed walking through the little touristy part of town with all the little shops. I returned to the ship with a beautiful turquoise gauzy blouse that Bill loved on me when I tried it on.

We were so glad to get back and find the tent with the icy-cold rolled up wet washcloths and the glasses of ice water and lemonade next to our ship! It was such a hot day – it was wonderful to be able to cool off before boarding.

Every day we spend on a Holland America ship Bill and I decide even more that this is our favorite cruise line. They exceed any other cruise ships we have ever been on for service and the little touches that make the cruises more enjoyable for us.
