This is my entry for the June OUAS challenge. Their theme this month is The best things in life aren't things.

Love * Success

Journaling on back of page.

“You did it! You did it! You did it!”
You earned your diploma. Hooray! Now you have a thing, a piece of paper, a new title. You are a college graduate.
More than that you have discovered more things about who you are and who GOD wants you to be. Beyond learning about who you are, you have gained new skills. You have learned things that will help you travel life's rocky roads.
It's true, the best things in life aren't things, but the family and friends who love and support you, who love and cheer for you, who love and care for you. Some of the best things are the sense of achievement you get for a job well done. The sense of peace knowing you've done your best, whether others recognize it or not. The knowing that when you meet GOD face to face that HE will say to you, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”
Continue to strive for the best things in life. You will be happy and full of peace if you remember that the best things in life aren't things.
By the way, yes, the diploma is just a thing, but it is a thing not everyone earns. Many go off to college only to discover that they can't make it. Life is hard and they want to party. Life is hard and they have to work to survive. Maybe they discover that college really has nothing useful to offer them. Only a select few struggle through the hard times and earn that diploma.
You worked at jobs, sometimes fulltime, sometimes parttime, always school. Home was a place where you recharged as much as you could to go again the next day.
Again I say, “You did it! You did it! You did it! Hooray!”
I also say, “Well, done thou good and faithful son! I love you!” Mom
