I just love neutral, monochromatic and black/white layouts. It can be really challenging to not add color. I recently took a picture that would fit the black/white color scheme perfectly: a snowy day in my hometown Oldenburg (Germany). We had a few nice, sunny and warm days already and all of a sudden the snow came back.. my first thought in the morning was: No more snow!! I wanted to catch this thought on a scrapbooking page and this is what it looks like. I started with a white cardstock from American Crafts, then I cut a chalbkoard paper from Elle´s Studio, added the stripe and photo corners (the papers are from Crate Paper´s On Trend collection. The photo and photo tag (Studio Calico) are adhered on a piece of vellum that was glued to another patterned paper (Crate Paper). I rarely add flowers to my pages, but these ones from Crate Paper were perfect - I embellished them with paper from Teresa Collins (Memories collection) and an Amy Tangerine metal embellishment. The alphabets are from (Dear Lizzy for) American Crafts (I am an alpha-freak!). The lovely clip that I attached in the end is from Crate Paper, the city skyline on the bottom right is from Amy Tangerine (it´s a rub-on). A few splatters with the opac white spray from Studio Calico - and I was done. What about you? Do you like creating black/white layouts? Or do you prefer the colorful ones? Have a great day.
