As soon as I saw this challenge I knew that I wanted to try for a double ombre effect. That is, I wanted to use an ombre background and also do some ombre stamping.I picked the pink-coral colour, with the yellow streaks, from the ombre picture on the February mood board as my colour inspiration and started by masking a large background stamp with two strips of low tack artist masking tape. (Picture 3) Then I inked up the open part of the stamp with a pale yellow ink. I removed the first strip of masking tape and inked the next part of the stamp with a bright yellow ink and finally, removed the last piece of tape and inked the last part of the stamp with an amber coloured ink. I stamped on white card stock and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I worked back over the stamped area with Distress inks going from Fired Brick to Worn Lipstick and finally Spun Sugar colours to create a background going from a dark to a very light pink. (picture 4)I thought these colours would work well with the kraft colour that was also in a few of the sections of the mood board so I stamped a sentiment on kraft card stock, using Versamark ink and white embossing powder. I added some colour to the flowers with some opaque gel pens. Punched it out with a square scalloped punch and inked the edges white. I chose a pink card base, layered on a small pink and white lined paper and a strip of kraft card stock, added my stamped piece and pop dotted on my sentiment. I also added a wooden button with a piece of green twine to pick up the tiny green centres in the sentiment flowers. Thanks for hosting this challenge, it was fun.
