My nan used to send me postcards from her travels when I was a child. I wanted to document this story, so I chose a select few postcards. I chose a postcard from Australia that mentions that she rode a camel (I scrapped the photo of her riding the camel on a different layout, so I thought it was fitting I used this postcard. I chose one that depict the Great Wall of China because it was a favourite trip of hers. I chose a postcard from Budapest as it was her favourite & frequent destination. I chose one from Thailand because she loved exotic destinations. I documented all this info on the back of my layout.I used the new EP ‘For the Record 2 - Documented’ collection with a few tidbits from EP ‘Everyday Eclectic’ and some Jillibean Soup banners. I placed the postcards in photo sleeves, sewed them to size (and then covered with washi because I didn't like the look of the stitching), and used washi to bind them to the layout so they can flip independently. I wanted to make sure that both sides of the postcards were visible and they were protected.Journalling reads: My nan travelled a lot when I was a child and she would almost always send me a postcard from her travels. Over the years I received little handwritten messages from all over the globe and from every continent except Antarctica. There were several places (such as Budapest and York) that she revisited and thus I sometimes had multiple images from a single city. I always look forward to receiving those little picture cards in the post whenever she travelled. Those postcards started my postcard collection. I would frequently buy postcards at news stands or buy older postcards from flea markets. The cards I cherished the most, however, were the cards from Nan, complete with her hard to read handwriting. Sometimes we wondered how they even managed to arrive at the correct destination, but those little cards of love and weather reports always made it eventually.
