These two are just so adorable. They are the adopted children of friends of ours. I love the relationship that they have with one another. To create the grungy yellow “ribbon” and brown square background, (I'm using CS5) I sampled the colors that I wanted to use from the papers and elements in my Just Smile collection and then used my Rectangle tool to draw them each on separate layers. To add grunge: add a new layer on top of element. Select element by ctrl+clicking on thumbnail in layers panel. With the new layer that you created selected, select your brush tool and choose a grungy brush. Set your color to white and brush around the edges of the element. Next, take your eraser tool, with a grungy brush selected and erase at it, leaving bits of the white. I also did this to the yellow polka dotted paper. For the paper and the “ribbon”, I also added a brown “grungy” layer. You can play with the opacity of your grunge layers to get desired effect. :)Supplies: Jen Martakis - Just Smile Collection, Journal Stamps - Clean and Subtle Shadows. Photo by Sus Waechter.
