This is for Jan's technique - to use Distress Inks as faux watercolours by spritzing the inked stamp with water before stamping - and Heidi's great card sketch.I LOVE this watercolor technique! I love the look of watercolours, and this is so (relatively!) easy! The first picture is my finished card, the second is a close up of the image I used for it, the third and fourth are my experiments. The first page of experiments uses my very limited supply of four Distress inks. The biggest problem I had was working out how much water to spritz. Not as much as I first thought! My other issue with these finer-detail stamps was trying to get the colour in the right place. I used q-tips for some, as recommended.By the second experiment page I was sick of my limited inks and went for my dds' crayola markers and they worked really well! I just coloured straight on the rubber and was really happy with the results (the birds). But THEN I remembered what I had originally planned to do which was to use Autumn leaf stamps (Stampers Anonymous)! I used orange and green Distress inks and loved the results.I may also use the pretty marker-coloured birds, though, for another project (hmmm, is looser's challenge calling my name??)
