This photo is of one of my Christmas ornaments, and it was for the Photo of the Month challenge in December 2009 -- topic: Tradition. Journaling says: This little carved wooden pig is my most special ornament even though he isn't at all valuable or pretty, and he is always the one I unpack first and is always the first ornament on the tree. It is tradition. I think receiving him must be one of my earliest memories, albeit a fuzzy one, because I was three or four years old at the time. I was with my parents at their friend Leonard's house, and someone asked to take me upstairs to meet his mother. I remember climbing the stairs and feeling scared; I remember meeting a little old woman in a chair who spoke to me and fussed over me and gave me this tiny pig; and I remember clutching him in my hand the rest of the time we were there. He holds a special place in my heart even after all these years.

This is my example for my July Four Categories Challenge - Category One ~ Product: Mixed Media Materials. Just about anything but regular ink pads qualifies for this challenge. The twist is to either use 2+ mediums or try a new technique with a medium you've used before. I have molding paste here that I tried applying with a dry brush. I also used Crackle medium on the title letters.
