This my completed challenge for Layered Designs card and Read All About It. In this piece develop I created a representation my vegetable garden. I painted the base to represent the soil and for interest added some crackle paint and colored small areas with Inky Gold to represent the fool’s gold we sometimes see. The final stenciling of 3 rows of leaves represent my rows of seeds starting to grow. A hint of humor is seen in the focal point being one dandelion weed already full size which unfortunately is not far off the current state of my garden. The script is phrases about gardening. The mat for the embossed resist is an embossing that did not work out in it’s original design. The process & supplies-I added 3 layers of stencil embossing paste to the base. The 1st layer of embossing was done with a stonelike stencil created with a stencil called sea foam from Artistcellar; the 2nd layer is a graphic design to add to the soil using Dylusions 6x6 stencil luscious leaves stencil. Both layers were painted with Luminere’s Metallic rust and accents of Ranger distress crackle paint. The final layer is leaves with the previous stencil painted with Inka Gold. The focal image was created with Hero Arts Flower Word script and dandelion stamps-stamped with Versamark, stamped in white and used Nick Bantock’s Cerulean Azure dye ink to color the resist.
