The first five pictures were made for a swap. The last three were experimentation. They'll probably end up sliced and diced and used as embellishments on cards. For these pieces, I followed the directions in Jacqueline Sullivan's article “Magic Modeling Paste”. You can find a free download to the article with gorgeous examples on her website: http://www.jacquelinesullivan.com/. [jacquelinesullivan.com] She also has a wonderful DVD–Acrylics: Textures, Layers and Metallics. Here's a summary of what I did for these:1. 140-lb. cold press watercolor paper, 4“x 4”2. Painted with a wash of Golden Fluid Acrylic Quinacridone Azo/Gold3. Craft tissue, torn and attached with Golden Polymer Medium gloss4. Tin foil, torn and attached with Golden Heavy Gel Matte (beneath the foil, doesn't show); geometric figures drawn with a stylus5. Paint foil with a mixture of acrylic paint (50 cent size) and 8 drops GAC 200(allows the paint to adhere to a non-porous surface)6. Cheese cloth shredded and attached with Polymer Medium Gloss7. Paint with a wash of #5 above8. Golden Light Molding Paste (texture added with stylus, stencil (Punchinella), stamp (Stampendous squares), pulled paste9. Lots of painting, blotting, and more painting10. Thin coat of Golden Gloss Polymer Medium, except the orange onesThe only ones that have stamping are the six that I experimented on in the last three pictures. All of these started out looking like the orange ones. There's a lot of variation in hue on those that doesn't show up here. The scans don't begin to do justice to the rich colors. I wish you could see them. For instance, in Picture 7 the top one is a vivid red painted over iridescent gold; it glows. In Picture 6, you can't see the depth of the vivid blues and greens or the shine of the copper. None of them show their true colors and shine.Making these was a lot of fun. TFL. Daria
