I made this layout for Nichol's Stamping challenge to use heat embossing in our layouts. I created my layered butterfly embellishments for the page using this technique with American's Crafts Zing! Embossing Powders (grapefruit, leaf and powder blue). Unfortunately I created this late at night and the next morning I realized that the grapefruit powder heated up to be a little brighter than I anticipated. I tried brushing on some chalk inks and distress inks, but just settled on it being a little off. Also I pulled out my new “Sew Easy” stitching piercer by We R Memory Keepers for the scalloped border. I love to hand stitch from time to time and decided to try something new by stitching in a trio of random beads every once in awhile for a fun, unexpected detail. My layers ended up being too much for the piercer and I ended up going back over it with a regular paper piercer, but it still saved me quite a bit of time from doing it on my own without the tool. :) Thanks for peeking and letting me play along. :)
