I had a table just like that and loved it! I took the legs off mine and put the white scrap cubes under it as legs and loved it even more because of the space it gave me for supplies. Even tho I've changed, ( went to an "L" shape configuration ) I still keep that table because it has so much gunk on it, paint, glue, cuts, etc. shows all my hard work thru the years! I think if I had that nice easy chair you have there in the corner, I'd never get any scrapping done! Looks so cozy!
Good little space. Though, it seems pretty big to me. I probably use a similar amount - part of a small room, not an entire room. You have a lot jammed in there. Hopefully, you will be able to incorporate the organization ideas into your new space in your new home. And nice to be given the scrapbook materials.
This is literally a "scrap"-room. When we first moved into this house my DH claimed it as a man-cave where he could study (he's going back to school for his bachelor's) and play video games out of my sight. Strike one: He has a laptop and prefers to study in the living room so he can be close to DD. Strike two: He bought a ...idk some new video game station thing (can you tell I have no interest?) and plugged it into the livign room TV. Strike three: I was not doing my scrap projects any more because all my craft stuff was hidden in cabinets in the dining room and I couldn't justify messing up the dining room table and all the effort to clean it up again every time. So slowly I had almost completely stopped scrapping. And the pictures were piling up! So I took over the mad cave and threw all his stuff in the closet and added the shelving unit from the garage and the extra dining table...Don't ask me why we have so much extra funriture. And Voilą! A space just for me that I didin't care about leaving dirty for a week if I wanted. In reality the room worked really well for me. Guess who it didn't work for? DH! haha He said he missed me when I would coop myself up in there. Its kinda nice to be missed, but its true. I missed him too. That is the nice think about my scrapbooking and his video game hobbies-->we can do them in the same room and still be together.
So the funny part of this story is I took this picture right before we moved. We finally bought our first home so after getting settled in and having my very own space for about about 3 months, I had to pack it all up again. Haha! Isn't it ironic? Anyway...this is what it looked like for those scrappers out there looking for small space solutions.
The big entertainment center behind my desk is where most of my stuff was. I had embelishments in the baskets, jars, and old baby formula containers (no way was I gonna throw those out at $22 each!). The big open area irectly behind my chair is where the Tv was supposed to go in the entertainment center. So I put in some wooden drawers I found for another desk and my homemade vertical paper storage. Up top I kept magazines and a box just for seasonal embelishments (my favorite). On my desk is a caddy for all my tools and my sewing machine. I still hand stitch everything but I want to encorporate actual sewing in my pages eventually. The desk under the window houses my cricut and some of my hubbys things like a digital projector. Did i mention there is nothing on the wall next to the desk because we project movies for our friends kids to watch. Haha you should see them pile up on that chair and watch Monsters University or Frozen...the tow most popular movies in the world apparently.
But this move came in great time. A friend of mine has decided to start to unload some of his deceased wife's scrapbooking materials and he decided it was going to me. After only one visit it completely filled in the underside of my desk/table. And there is a lot more where that came from. So a new strategy will be neccessary.
