Chocolate cake mix done in 4 layers. When making mix add 1/2 oil & 1/2 apple sauce for the amount oil required in cake mix. makes for a moist cake. Melt 60 caramels with 3 Tbs. water over low heat stirring to keep from sticking. Cool 10 min. Beat melted caramels into 8 oz. cream cheese at room temp. Refrigerate 20 min. & fold in 8 oz. cool whip. Spread between the 3 layers. Frosting: Beat 3/4 cup milk, 3/4 cup powder sugar into 1 pkg. chocolate instant pudding. It's very thick. So there's no streaks, fold in 8 oz cool whip a bit at a time. I made some caramel sauce, but you can use store bought, drizzled it over 1/2 pieces of Rolo candy. Make day before. Flavors blend/mellow.
