The September 2014 Vintage Love Kit from Swirlydoos has been screaming "vintage" to me ever since I opened the package, so I've been going through my "moooost scrap someday" pile, looking for the perfect photos. This is one of my "mooooost"s: my Mother and her Aunt Peggy (yes, that's a family name) that was taken around 1922.
My Grandparents were tenant farmers on my Great Grandparents' land, working and hard and saving to buy a farm of their own - a dream that was realized in 1928. Meanwhile, my mother and her siblings received a lot of attention from Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles who all lived close by.

I followed a sketch by Ana Castro that Swirly Savage Jan had posted as her Week #42 Challenge, complete with hexagons. As you can see, I was able to add LOTS of hexagons, thanks to Jan's enabling tip about punches. I used the stencil from the Mediums Add-On and some Vintage Photo Distress Ink to create a bit of texture on the left, added bits of border strips and lace below the photo and then piled on those punched-out shapes. No flowers here, just a few butterflies shaped with more punches.
