Our guide then took us to a papyrus factory that made papyrus paper and put beautiful pictures on them. We didn't plan on buying anything but we both loved a piece that could be customized for us. It was a colorful Egyptian drawing with a cartouche on the left side of the drawing and another cartouche on the right side. It was designed for the artist to personalize with names painted in the cartouches. We watched him paint our names in hieroglyphics, paid for it then walked around looking at other papyrus paintings until time for our group to leave.

There was another painting we really liked but it was larger and more expensive which is why we got the smaller one with our names instead. We saw our guide talking to the man who ran the papyrus factory but we had the impression they were friends so we didn't think anything about them talking quietly for a few minutes. Then when we got on the bus we were given the other piece that we were admiring!
