These are photos from November 2009 of the Black River in the Michigan UP. The left photo is of a map of the area. The bottom middle photos are of the two sides of an information sign - one side about the geology of the Black River, and the other about frontier days on the lower reaches of the Black River. None of the signs are legible in the photo of the LO, so I uploaded better pics along with the LO if anyone wants to read them.

Journaling says: The weekend after Lexie died, I went to stay Up North. I had to get away from the house - it was just too painful there. On Sunday, taking a drive up to Black River Harbor on Lake Superior for hiking and sightseeing was just what I needed to help me find some inner peace. It was beautiful. I wish we'd had enough daylight to hike to the other two sets of waterfalls we missed, Conglomerate and Rainbow Falls. I will definitely plan for more time when I get a chance to go back. FYI, Lexie was my 14 1/2 year old collie.

This is my example for my November Four Categories Challenge - Category Two ~ Color: Cool Colors. Players are to use a cool color palette, i.e. blues, greens, & purples, on a LO. The twist is to mat photos - I matted my focal photo: the second from the left.

This is for the November Music Challenge - Song Category: The song is Rather Be by Clean Bandit. I used a paraphrase of a lyric in my journaling, "find [some] inner peace." I did the banner twist.

Also for an old VLB Challenge to do a LO about a trip or vacation.
