During our summer vacation to the Greek Island of Crete we took a day trip to the Samaria Gorge. The hike was approximately 16km. We started the hike around 8:30 when it was still a bit chilly, finished at 2 and it was in the 90s. Stunning views, and so many photo ops felt like we stopped at least 100 times so i could snap a picture. At the end of the hike is the remot village of Aghia Roumeli. There are no roads to get here, only access is by boat. We rewarded ourselves after the hike by stopping at this charming restaurant for a late lunch. Beer, wine a greek salad and stuffed zucchini flowers. Then it was off to the beach for a refreshing swim before the ferry arrived.
