another wonderful heritage lo. love the choice of pp/colors. and the torn edges are a perfect touch. (even photocopied - the pics are much better than not having anything at all). You are doing such a marvelous job at preserving the family history - TFS.
My first thought was how wonderful you have such great photos of your "ancestors". You are very fortunate. Second thought...you are so talented with vintage photos. I love the papers you chose. It just makes the LO beautiful. TFS!
This is the brother to Benjamin Franklin Miles (and yes they have a brother named Abraham Lincoln Miles) To say these photos are not ideal is an understatement. The family one is actually from a PHOTOCOPIED plain paper photo which I restored as much as I could. I have to say, I could kill people that do that, but it's better than nothing.
George is one of the brothers who went to Texas. He was married first to Nancy McWhirter a sister to Ben's wife Sarah McWhirter. Nancy died in child birth. So he took his two small children alone with the family and their youngest sister along to help care for them in Texas. While there, one of his boys and his sister died. I don't know how or why. Then they came back to Alabama and he remarried and had six more children. His second wife must have been fun, I have letters that she wrote to my grandfather and they are funny! People don't appear fun in these old photos do they?
I have another photo of them around 1957 no long before George died but I don't know who everyone in the photo is. I originally thought it was his brother Abe. This photo helped me even figure out who and where the 1957 photo was. Two of the girls are enough alike to be twins but they are not.
