Give a Cheer
Last summer Dh & I took DD to the beach with a group of friends. It had been quite a while since I had gone with a group of people. Actually we hadn't gone to the beach at all in a couple years. Which, as a born central Floridian, is absolutely crazy! I love the beach! But I was super busy with an ambitious career and after DD was born it just seemed like such a hassle...I was so used to grabbing my surf board and a towel I just couldn't wrap my mind around sunscreen, blankets, an umbrella, snacks, cold drinks, toys...blah blah blah. And even though we did have to pack up all that stuff to go on this little adventure I am so glad we did. Not only did DD have a blast (obviously), but it was so nice to be with our friends and their kids at the beach. The salty wind, the sound of waves crashing and seaguls calling, and even the sand (which was everywhere for severl days it seemed). I think I am going to make an effort to go to the beach a lot more this summer. Not just for her, but for me too.
I struggled with this LO. I really wanted to use that line by Simple Stories, but I got stuck. And then frustrated. I almost scrapped the whole LO, but I decided to move forward with my idea. And now I am really happy with it. Its fun and not over done...which is what I have been doing a lot of lately. This LO helped me scale back a little. Next time you're stuck...keep going.
