I love that you are using bits from those vintage cards - what a great idea. The whole story of Rex is a great one and you have scrapped it so well. Great embellishing right down to the stitched on beads.
Hello fellow Scrappers! This is a LO made for a February heritage challenge. One of the theme was pets since February 20th was pet day. I chose one of my favorite photos of my dad when he was 4 years old. Rex was the farm dog, and not much of the family pet as they are known to be now. Rex had "duties" around the farm and was a great hunting dog. One of the stories I often heard about Rex was how he carried his dish around all the time (exactly how he is in the picture.) I have at least 5 other photos of Rex in basically the same way in different years. The photo of my dad and Rex was taken in 1939 and the one of Rex alone was 1949. I'm a bit disappointed with my camera in that it does not pick up the colors of the paper or the die cuts very well. The beading is sewed around the inner paper looks like random blots in the photo. I used brown glass beads. The barn, windmill and silhouette were from the Heritage cartridge. The fussy cut Boston terriers were from a birthday card that my grandfather gave to my uncle in 1955. My aunt (dad's oldest sister) gave me many Christmas cards, birthday cards, and anniversary cards that she saved from the 40s and 50s. Very blessed to have such wonderful family members who support this hobby I love so very much. Thanks for looking!
