These are the hard pages to do but, need to be done while the memories are fresh in our minds. It will be easier to look at in a few years... but, It was beautifully done.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing a four legged family member is very painful. You've done a beautiful job on this LO. The simple embellishments and touching journaling are all that are need with these photos. I do like the paper choice and the stitched heart too.
heartbreaking lo, but so beautifully done. I have tears in my eyes reading this and knowing how much Lexie meant to you. 5 minutes or 5 years gone, it still hurts. Hugs to you Lisa!
I am so glad you concentrated on the lovely photos of Lexie and skipped the accents. I am so sorry and I hope scrapping helped with the loss of an amazing puppy.
I know this wasn't easy for you- but I know from experience that time does not take away the love & affection, just the sting isn't as sharp. She was loved & cherished & will always be part of you. (((HUGS)))
Oh how sweet! What a wonderful tribute! Love the background paper and the heart by the title! What a sweet looking dog. I don't know what editing you did on the photos but they look awesome.
OMG...that very last photo, lower right has tears streaming down my face.....I know they live such good lives with us and we love them so, nevertheless, it is SO DIFFICULT and so profoundly sad. Absolutely LOVE your layout . TFS...
Oh, I'm just saddened by this. We lost our sweet Siberian Husky July 2011 and I am still not able to really do any pages about her. She was a beautiful collie and this is just such a sweet way to honor her!
Such a hard topic to scrap but I am glad you did it. I love the photos, especially the close up of her on the bottom right. Fabulous stitching too. A wonderful tribute page!
I'm crying just reading this. I think you know I've fallen in love with Lexie thru your lo's. She was such a lucky girl to have such an amazing mama. Gorgeous memorial.
Just breaks my heart, as I know how hard it is to say good bye to them. My last 2 were the hardest for me, I sat with them while they went to the rainbow bridge and getting up to leave them there was so hard. You did a wonderful LO for your fur baby ! Great pics and love the title and journaling block!
THis is a wonderful tribut page...I agree that embelishments might not send the right message, but the heart BG paper with the black accents was a prefect combination. I like how this turned out, but I am sad that it still gives you pain to work with these photos. It must have been a very special bond between you. <3
Beautiful layout. I love the hearts and the fact that you kept the layout simple. I lost my Husky in 2010 and still miss him everyday. I know exactly how you feel. Hugs.
These are photos of my collie, Lexie, from November 10, 2009. This was the last day of her life. It's been rough working with these pictures, even though she's been gone over 5 years now. I did this and one other LO of her this week. I still have a couple more to do with photos of her with us that day.
The journaling is about the change in her condition and the conversation I had with her vet. I'm not typing it out here because it's sad and depressing, but I believe it's clear enough to read if you click on the photo if anyone wants to. I printed it directly on the cardstock using the font Avery's Hand.
I wanted to keep this simple - embellishments felt inappropriate - but I also wanted to give it the care the subject deserves. I used an old PageMaps sketch for the design. I drew the double heart on scrap paper to go with the doodle-look pp, then used it as a guide to poke holes for stitching. I also did a few cross stitches on the edges of the white blocks to add another detail. I outlined all the photos with a black Sharpie.
This is my example for my February Four Categories Challenge - Category Four ~ Theme: Love. LO's must include the word 'love' somewhere on them. I have the large 'i love you' sticker at the bottom. The twist is to include a heart on the LO.
This is also for the February Sewing Challenge with the twist of a stitched heart.
Also a VLB challenge to stitch on a LO.
