This is brilliant!! ~ Your creativity w/all the TH ppr, stickers, metals... and the great mix of media (canvas, lace, flowers, burlap;) is such Beautiful work~ Love your style here~
I love this shabby-chic look you are keeping with the old B&W photos - its perfect! Love the optional shoes too! I have a pic of my cousin in the 1960's aged 5, with shoes with enormous holes in the toes - perfect for outside but not quite for school - you inspire me to scrap it!
That fabulous photo caught my eye...love the story and the way you scrapped it! I was looking thru my stash and came across these Tim Holtz pps! This inspires me to use them!
Well, you nailed it, as usual! This is so vintage and shabby, fits your photo perfectly. I really love the distressed layers mixed with the burlap and lace. Terrific design. Love the shabby title banner.
Fantastic! Love the mix of flowers and ink and distressed edges - completely suited to the photo. And yes back in the glorious days of the 50s and 60s shoes were just an idea for some of us in the summer!
Oh, that photo is amazing! What fun for a child. Love those little bare feet sticking out. I love your lace and fabric scraps. You have such an elegant style. This is beautifully done. Love the old safety pin, the gears, the fence and the flowers. Your embellishments are always so "spot on".
What a great old photo! Your layout is perfect and it was interesting reading your description of the pic and how you wanted to scrap it....and you pulled it off!
I love this! You really created the sene. I am really into that right now too. With those colors and embellies I feel like I am right there! Love this. And the picture is soooo wonderful. What an honest depiction of the world back then...plus its super personal because its part of your story. Wonderful!
PS shoes were only worn during cold weather or when you were in school, definitely optional during the summer! Must be why I still go barefoot around the house!!
This photo is terrific!! Made me think of the Little Rascals and made me chuckle!! Thats what someone else said too!! Fancy that! Love all the all the bits and pieces you used on the page, you have captured the essence of "recycled trash"!!
This is my Aunt Barb (circa 1947-48) my fathers baby sister. A little firey Irish red head. My dad and his brothers built this soap box car for neighborhood races. He said they all got in trouble for robbing the supplies from the barn. And it seems from all of the photos that shoes were optional back then, LOL! Loved the photo and box car wagon and have had it awhile but I am just now getting around to scrapping it. I thought I would pull out some shabby vintage stash for this one and have some fun with it. I wanted it to feel like the built car (Used & recycled) so I used scraps from alot of other projects and LO's. TFL!
