Meeting Mickey was awesome. DD was so excited and yet she was totally awesome about waiting in line. It was the last thing we did that day so we wanted to make it special. And boy was it. I don't know how they created the technology for his face to be completely animatronic, but it works. It felt like such a personal experience. DD was clearly excited to see him, but when it was her turn and there she was in front of her idol with his arms stretched wide for a big hello, she got nervous. Mickey of course understood and instead suggested that they go on a magical train ride around the room. So he took her hand and they did choo choo sounds and motions around the room in a circle. This seemed to do the trick perfectly because by the time they were done she was ready to give him big hug and pose for a picture. Wow!

Of course, we had to walk though a gift shop to leave the building and on our way DD passed a huge tower of Mickey plushes. She sweetly asked for one...she didn't wine or pitch a fit. So we let her hold it and told her she could pick anything in the room (and then prayed she didn't want the most expensive item). She said she wanted that one (the smallest of the stuffed animals) and we promptly walked to the counter to wait in the last line of the day. As we walked out of the park and all the next day she proudly told us and every one she met that she met the "real Mickey".
