For my mom's dance albums...I haven't done a patriotic themed dance since like 1998 or something. It's not exactly a common thing for the older class to do anymore. This year, though, we wound up donning the red, white, and blue because the show is on Flag Day so the studio owner decided that the whole show has to be painted in patriotic colors (it's not actually). The first part of the dance is mostly new stuff done to a mix of patriotic standards. The second part, however, is a dance I learned in 1998. It's to "Our Favorite Son" from "The Will Rogers Follies." It's not really a tap dance but a routine done sitting in a chair or on a bench with your hands and an annoying hat with a tambourine in it. The costume we wore the first time we did that piece was pretty terrible but this costume kind of makes me miss it. That costume was pretty much a carbon copy of the outfit worn in "The Will Rogers Follies" while this one is just a rip off Vegas showgirl type deal.
