This is so much fun, and is so pirate! Don't know the song at all (so it won't get stuck in my head - yay!) but it fits so well on this LO and I really like it on the black journaling strips. Super LO!
This is fabulous!! LOVE the clock pieces and your title work and those hexis! I did NOT know thta about that song, but I too am of the Clarissa generation, tho my secret pet was an Orca... (he'd have fit in my bathtub apparently!) :o)
LOVE the techniques you used here and as always, another fave for me!
I love that song too! Great use of it here. I really like that you included a clock in your title. I like too the dimensions of the hexagons, the red "X" with the treasure chest and the stitched waves of water.
I love all the meaning you put into this and the techniques you used. What a delightful lo and story too. Isn't it fun to remember your secret wishes fed by your imagination and to wonder what your dd will imagine and long for?
I like the fact that this lo doesnt feel at all Disney to me, but VERY Captain Hook with the clock in the title, which I just love! I too love this song and will be singing it to myself for the rest of the day now! (You may very well be well bred, lots of etiquette in your head - trala!)
oh it worked! I immediately thought of Disney before I read your description. Perfect song and I love what you did with the burlap and the stitched waves! Gorgeous little layout! Into my faves
Did you know that the song "Never Smile at a Crocodile" was written for Disney's Peter Pan animated movie? And yet the lyrics are not in the movie... the song is only instrumental. Oddly enough this has been one of my favorite songs for probably 20 years. Partly because I have always been a fan of the movie (I loved Captain Hook long before he became the mega hottie on Once Upon A Time) and the song is also featured in "You've Got Mail" (another one of my all time favorites.) So I had to include the song on this Tick Tock Croc inspired page. We were actually at the Conservation Station at Animal Kingdom when DD got to pet this baby alligator. She was so sweet and gentle. And she wasn't afraid at all. Maybe she will have the same secret desire to have a pet baby alligator that I had when I was a kid. Though if you grew up in the "Clarissa Explains It All" generation, you may have also had that secret wish. Anyway, I wanted to make this page more "Disney" than "Zoo" themed. Did it work? Hope you like it. TFL.
A lot of products were picked up at HL. The pirate buttons, the green burlap, and the metal clocks. Not only did I pain and gloss the anchor but I actually did the ship too...I wanted it to look like the gorgeous flying Jolly Rodger.
