Photos from November 2009. Journaling says: The H1N1 flu pandemic has been big news since June. Cassie's doctor diagnosed her with it 3 days before my scheduled surgery. It was horrible, both because of how she felt, and because I couldn't take care of her like I wanted to. Abby was so good about staying with her, and Cassie also wanted her pink pig (swine!) with her for comfort.
The pink you can barely see next to dd's face is the aforementioned pink pig. I wish I'd thought to take a better picture of her with it.
This is my example for my May Four Categories Challenge - Category Three ~ Technique: Pocket. I made the whole design into a pocket to slide in the printouts about H1N1 from the CDC that her pediatrician gave us. For the twist of ribbon, I used velvet rick rack to make the leaves on my lollipop flowers.
I used an old Scrapbook Challenges sketch. I made the flowers. I stamped Get Well Soon in a couple places on the newsprint pp.
