Interesting comparison to the tree of life an the handprints. Liked them there but didn't understand the significance until you explained it in the journaling. And of course you have to include them if your dh thinks they can't work. :) LIke the sepia colored photos on this too.
Such a fun and happy LO! Glad you found a way you include the handprint trees (what do DHs know!) Got a chuckle from your description. They really do grow up so fast!
oh my gosh - this is PERFECT in every way. and I LOVE that you were able to find a way to include the hand print tree (it does look like the tree of life).
I LOVE that you included the hand print tree on this layout! It is unique and such a part of your dd's life at this stage and you are right it does look like the tree of life.
Such a fun and clever idea to use her hand prints! Love the sepia pics and especially the way this Disney page feels totally Disney-like without the obvious traditional colors and themes!!
SO cute!!! Love how you incorporated her handprints in your page! This is darling and so fun. Esp love the pprs you used - perfect for the wild animal kingdom! Fave (again)
Whimsical LO! I love everything about this page! And I love your story! My DGS spent two days (Mon and Tue of the current week) at Disneyland with his another grandma. I look forward to seeing photos to scrap some of them.
Love that you used the handprints. I am now thinking of how to use her other adorable projects she does in preschool. This is a wonderful LO. I love the sepia tone photos.
Adorable hand prints! The struggle is real! I have a little sister who's been giving me hand made crafts and gifts since she was 3 or so... I have a whole pile of them... Hard to decide what to keep and what to let go.
We had such a great time at Animal Kingdom. DD really loves animals and all things Disney...so of course this was a major success. We had met Mickey and Minnie several times now, but never together. That was a treat. Without saying a word Minnie complimented DD's pink sparkly shoes and Mickey gave off that "Oh girls are so silly!" vibe. We all laughed. Its amazing what can be expressed without any words. And DD was all over it. It was another great Disney experience.
I really got myself into a pickle with this LO. I wanted to submit it to the Disney/Paper Wizard challenge and the June 4 Categories Challenge to use brown and gold. Then I got it stuck in my head that I absolutely had to use the hand print tree DD made in school. It had been hanging on the fridge for a few weeks and I knew I either needed to save it or toss it. And since it kind of reminded me of the tree of life I thought..."put it in the LO." OMG I could not figure out the placement of this LO. I went round and round literally in circles trying to figure this out. I even asked DH for his opinion...he said the tree just didn't work and I should take it out. So of course that quickly prompted me to find a way to keep it and I came up with this. I couldn't keep the tree out. I think it has to do with her starting in a new "class room" at day care. She skipped over room 7 and is now in room 8...they are tracing letters, working on more fine motor skills, and she even knows her full name and mine and DH's. Those don't seem like a big deal until your two our old is doing it and proving she isn't a toddler any more. Another phase bites the dust....now I have a preschooler. Sigh....
