Hi everyone! It was so good to have a little time to create another layout. I took this picture of my firstborn, Sam, when he was a senior in high school. He played his bari-sax with a little group of band members for Memorial Day at our local cemetery. I love this picture of him and really miss hearing him play the sax. He played tenor, alto and bari sax during high school.

I have to admit that on this project I only used two recycled items! The fabric under the three tag-like things is actually from Sam's old dress jacket that I bought for him in middle school from Goodwill. He grew into it AND wore it out! I got him a new one for his birthday last year and cut out some of the fabric from the old jacket for craft projects! Now, here's the other thing that you will get a kick out of....that threadlike stuff in the cluster is actually from a horse's tail!! I found a good clump of it in one of our apple trees that a bird was going to use for nesting material!! Hahaha. I thought it was pretty cool, and didn't know what it was at first until my husband told me! We do have a neighbor with a horse and a mule, so I think little birdie must've stole it from their pen!

I did a little embossing on this layout (top border, "inspiration" (a Gabrielle Pollacco clear stamp from The Scrapbook Diaries) and the little border underneath it.

I also used photographs I had taken of birds on our property at various times...the mountain chickadee, western tanager and cedar waxwing! I pictured birds singing along with the music. The three butterflies that I fussy cut are along pictures of the real thing that I printed off my Print Shop program. The little journaling tags (not quite sure what you call them) give words with definitions, that I felt described Sam. He was an inspiration to a lot of kids in band. He frequently made repairs to instruments and even built a set of quad drums out of pvc and various scraps for marching band.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I appreciate your feedback! :-)
