Here's another steampunk card I made. This time it is for Sam (my firstborn) who will be 23 years old tomorrow. Not only is he talented musically, but also mechanically, so I decided to go with the steampunk theme. The papers are from Hot Off The Press Steampunk Paper Pack. I wanted to have that diamond plate paper on the top under the tag because last year Sam made me a bacon press using stainless steel diamond plate. I included a picture of the bacon press so you could get an idea of what it looks like. It works wonderfully and is rather heavy. He made the handle and welded it to the diamond plate.

Recycled items on this project include the aluminum shavings at the top and bottom of the tag. Sam drilled a hole in a piece of aluminum to make a washer and the shavings turned out like that. I added TH alcohol ink in caramel to match the color scheme. The white washer like things came off my best friend's roof that was being repaired! She found these all over the ground so I took a few of them to use! The snap on the gears with links are from a pair of Sam's pants. The straight pin-like thing came from a broken paper punch of mine. The key, clock and one of the gears are charms from Nini's Things I won in a drawing. The other gears with links and connector on the Happy Birthday tag are from Hobby Lobby. The clip on the tag came off a collar of a new dress shirt! The drywall tape is from a roll my husband gave me to use and it is a scrap left over from my brother's 60th birthday card. I inked it up with Tsukineko copper and gold. The chain I've had in my stash. The tag itself is from a St. John's Bay tshirt I got my husband for Father's Day and just cover it with the matching papers. Oh yes, the bottle cap comes from Old Henry's Root Beer!
