The poem reads:
One hundred years from now
It won't matter
What kind of car I drove
What kind of house I lived in
How much money I had in the bank
Nor what my cloths looked like
BUT
The world may be a little better
Because, I was important
In the life of a child.

Author: (excerpt from "Within My Power" by Forest Witcraft)

I felt it fitting for my SIL. She spent a portion of her life worrying about how fashionable she was and where she was "supposed" to be later in life. But after she turned 30 she realized she wanted to take control and do what she wanted to do...so she is now back at school to become a nurse. She gave up her independence (she lives with her parents to save money), she borrows a car to get to and fro, and she has adopted a much more humble lifestyle. Honestly I am so proud of her. But all that change does not come easy and at times we all want to revert back to our old ways. This poem isn't about who she will always be (even though she will ALWAYS be important to her niece), its about who she is now and that she is ok...she is more than that...she IS important.
