This layout is in honor of my wonderful mother and only aunt (they were identical twins) who went to school in the old Dobson school house, Durand Illinois. There were only 12 children total, and grades K-12 were taught. Their teacher was Miss Klepinger, and she taught them to read, write and spell by studying Latin. My mother told me that in the bitter, cold winter, each student would bring a potato to school. Miss Klepinger would put them in the little stove and by lunchtime, they were perfectly baked. Such sweet memories my mother shared with me and now I share with you. Thank you for looking and for your sweet comments. Image from Pintrest. Originally posted in Life Magazine.
