This is for the pre-1950's challenge. Journaling reads: My dad, Chester Davis, never studied music, or could he read music. But he could play the piano and organ "by ear," producing some beautiful and recognizable tunes. He was even able to harmonize with his left hand while his right hand almost flawlessly performed the melody. This was such a remarkable gift! He is pictured here posing with, and playing, his piano in these self-portraits taken around 1947.
