EASTER – Sunday, April 5th, 2015 – Our last full day in Jerusalem.
We walked back to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher but it was packed and so was the courtyard outside. Bill told me we could go in if I wanted to. I told him just being there was enough – we were right outside the church where the tomb of Jesus and the place where the cross may have been. I didn't need us to get in the middle of the mob again. It was Easter Sunday and I was walking the streets of Jerusalem, walking in the very steps that Jesus walked so many years ago.
We got away from the huge crowd of people around the Church of the Holy Sepulcher where people were shoulder to shoulder and Bill and I had to hang on to each other to keep from getting separated - then crowd start thinning out and within 10 or 15 minutes it wasn't crowded at all as we got a little further away. We strolled around the old city and spent the next hour just taking pictures.
