You have a gift of really showing all aspects of a place. This LO is no exception. You really get a complete picture of the church. The altar area is beautiful with the columns. Thanks for sharing this with us especially us Catholics.
Next we went directly next door to the church of St. Joseph. It was a much simpler church that the Church of the Annunciation but was still very nice. Downstairs was the crypt level although I'm not clear who is buried there but there are no claims that it is Joseph.
In several places there were grates where you could see the old original city streets in the grotto but you could not go to that level. When looking down through the grates you can see lots of coins, notes and currency people had put through the grates. I'm not sure why, I don't think anyone goes down there to collect it and it seems to me it would make more sense to put it in the offering boxes that were placed around for donations.
It is said that the church was built on the spot where Joseph's carpentry workshop was located. This is because possible because Joseph would have lived in this area.
