What an awesome idea to scan the fabric. I may use that idea, if that's OK, for my nieces dance costumes. This is only her third year and she's five. If she continues on with it I will have to get creative like this. Love your LO. I have that skyscraper CM punch too. Maybe it's time to pull it out.
wow this is just stunning! I love everything about it. the rays in the paper, the border, the distressed text, the die cuts. Perfection. She is a gorgeous dancer
WOW! Beautiful! I love the pose she is captured in - so elegant and graceful. Lovely photo. I love the way you do a page of just her and one of the whole dance team. Love the skyscraper on the right side with the title. This whole page brings out the grace and elegance. The costume is stunning!
Beautiful, my granddaughter Alexis has the passion for dancing and at the tender age of 9, she is the youngest in the competition group and had a very good year. Maegen is 5 and likes to dance but not with passion, just the moves
In 2012, my dd was in 8 dances in her studio's recital. This is her portrait for Advanced/Intermediate Ballet, one of 2 ballet dances she had in this recital. She's 15 here. The girls danced to Skyscraper by Demi Lovato.
I always do a single page LO for each of her individual portraits that I try to match to the costume and song and a coordinating 2 page LO for the group portrait and action shots from the dress rehearsals. You can see my other completed dance LO's in my Dance LO Album in my Gallery. All the professional dance portraits have been taken by Cass Photography.
This is my example for my November Four Categories Challenge - Category Three ~ Technique: Single Photo. The twist is to use at least 5 different papers. I have 2 different card stocks, 2 patterned papers, and vellum.
This is for the November Music Challenge - Title. The twist is a page border - I made a skyscraper border for the page.
Also for a VLB Challenge to have a silhouette on a page. My bg pp has multiple bird silhouettes and a hot air balloon silhouette.
This is a gorgeous costume. The top layer is ivory netting with cream and teal embroidery and gold sequins. I scanned the fabric, printed the scan on vellum, and fussy cut parts of the design to use on the page. I used an old CM punch for the tiny squares I needed for the skyscraper's windows. I used rub ons for the lyric written up the edge of the building: 'Rising from the Ground.'
