That sculpture is pretty amazing. I can't imagine though having a full time job for six months in taking care of it. That is something I need to see sometime... the ebb and flow of the sea or the ocean. Never witnessed it before. We are kind of landlocked here and so is South Dakota. :)
You are right....this sand sculpture is incredible. I can't believe it will last for six months. You always find such interesting places and sights on your travels. The beach looks heavenly to me.
Our taxi took us down a narrow road that connected the mainland to the old fort we wanted to tour. As we were on the narrow road we saw the coolest sand structure I've ever seen.
It was built by 3 men and they expect it to last for about 6 months. There was a bucket next to it so people could toss in a small donation if they wanted to take pictures and it was well worth it! It is made of all sand – no other products or anything to make it hold together. In the daytime they lightly spray it down with water ever hour and at night one of them is there to spray it down once every two hours so the sand sculpture won't dry out. They never leave it unattended.
The tide was out so there were a lot of wooden boats out of water sitting on the sand.
