In 2012, my dd was in 8 dances in her studio's recital. This is her portrait for Advanced/Intermediate Jazz. She's 15 here. The girls danced to Black & Gold by Sam Sparro.

I always do a single page LO for each of her individual portraits that I try to match to the costume and song and a coordinating 2 page LO for the group portrait and action shots from the dress rehearsals. You can see my other completed dance LO's in my Dance LO Album in my Gallery. All the professional dance portraits have been taken by Cass Photography.

This is my example for my January Four Categories Challenge - Category Three ~ Technique: Monochrome without the twist. Although it fits the requirements I set, which were to use one color only along with any of the neutrals white, black, cream, brown, and/or gray, it doesn't feel monochromatic to me. I guess because the black, white, and gold are pretty equal. IDK. Anyway, I hope to try another one this month with the twist to use one color ONLY.

This is for the January Music Challenge - Lyrics. Of course, 'Black & Gold' is a lyric in the song as well as the title. For the number twist, I have '2012' in the upper left corner.

I cut some extra off the ends of the piece of fabric that is wrapped around the hat of the costume to use on the page (the sequin strip).
