Our oldest granddaughter, Roan, the month she turned 3 with Joe. This was Thanksgiving day at our home in Ocala.

My oldest son, John, brings his family to our house for Thanksgiving every year and to his wife's house for Christmas every year which is perfect.

For me, my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving and both of the boys like Thanksgiving best and her mother doesn't cook or do anything for Thanksgiving so this is the only way Roan will grow up knowing what Thanksgiving is.

Her family does a really big Christmas and we do very little for Christmas other than a few presents, we don't even have a big Christmas dinner so this arrangement is perfect for both families. I do not like spending Christmas day in the kitchen.

Our big family tradition is Thanksgiving.
