Adding my praise to all the rest - truly looks like metal instead of cardboard. Love the pic with the pillars and shadows. I appreciate the thoughts that went into your LO and that you shared them with us.
wow!!! What a fabulous photo and lo. You've created a perfect way to showcase the pic. The rustic beauty is certainly eye catching. Love all the layers, textures and colors.
those are some pretty cool photos; looks very interesting, and your DS takes some really good photos! you really made the photos
stand out on here though :)
Wow, what a great photo he captured. I love what you did to match the colors. That corrugated paper looks like aged metal. You really outdid yourself on this beautiful layout.
It's awesome! Elizabeth! I really like everything you've done. The mix of inks on the corrg board really does bring out the depth of the shed. your gravel is so cool! and I like the accents too. looks like real pine branch snippets. TFS! The photographer is brilliant! : ) Fave for me~
I don't know where to start on what I like about this LO. I'm speechless. The whole LO from the photography to the accents are so incredible together. Can I just say you have truly created a masterpiece.
Amazing! I agree the depth of the photo is wonderful & your son did a great job! WOW girl you did a marvelous job on this lo! The corrugated board really added some great texture & all your colors are so perfect. Are those real branches under the clock?:)
I am so excited to share this layout with you! This is only the second layout I've made where the subject matter is not human! This is a picture that my youngest son, Daniel, took on one of his hiking trips along the Iron Goat Trail here in Washington state. I just love the depth and rustic nature of the snow shed and how the light filtered in.
I had so much fun with this layout and it came together much more quickly than my layouts usually do. This is the first time I've used corrugated cardboard for my background paper. It came from packaging material. You wouldn't believe all the acrylic paints I used to get the background color to match the picture! Let's see, there was an olive green, champagne gold, white, brown, dark brown, grey and finally black! Then after I dry brushed it on, I added TH Mustard Seed distress ink and then Perfect Pearls Heirloom Gold spray mist to give it a bit of shimmer and to match the color tones in the picture. I love how the corrugated cardboard brings out the columns.
For the sign I used a Martha Stewart paint chip sample in Precious Metal - Kelp Green. At the bottom I used Stampendous Mica Flakes and Shabby White embossing powder to extend the gravel in the picture.
My husband ordered the arrowheads and gave them to me awhile back to use on my projects.
The clock ring is from Prima - Finnabair Vintage Trinkets that I got from Reneabouquets.
