Hi friends! Finally got to make a layout this month after making several cards! This is my first-born, Sam, and one of his senior pictures I took early fall 2009. He graduated in 2010. When I was choosing papers to use I ran across this plaid and found the colors matched perfectly. I never thought I'd be able to put that paper to use but it matched perfectly with this picture so I decided to go for it! :-)

I framed the picture using the Crafter's Workshop Mini Vineyard with green stamping ink, rubbed on it with the Tim Holtz foam tool, then immediately used clear embossing powder and heat embossed it. While looking through my chippies I ran across these feathers and "Live" that were given to me by Unique Laser Designs when I was Guest Designer over a year ago. I decided to use them to go along with Sam's belt buckle. I rubbed TH Black Soot distress ink pad directly over the top and heat embossed with clear embossing powder again. Then I applied Ranger Victorian Gold Patina with a Q-tip, dried it, then rubbed some TH Peacock Feathers here and there on top of that. "Live" is just painted with Gold and Copper dabbers.

On the ornate gate is Kaisercraft and I used Adirondack Gold and Copper Dabbers. I've had those eggshell mosaics for at least 2 or 3 years and made those using a tutorial from Gabrielle Pollacco. I asked Sam if he thought I should try to tone them down a bit but he liked them as is. The branch with blossoms was also from ULD. I just rubbed my ink colors on with a Q-tip and used clear embossing powder. The centers are Ranger's Liquid Pearls in Buttercup. I used the same technique as the feathers on the little birds.

The resin clocks are from Gone Artsy. The metal clock is Spare Parts from Hobby Lobby as well as the feathers at the top and the keys I got at Walmart. The stamp above the ornate plate is from Close To My Heart. The stamp at the bottom is probably Fiskars.

Now, you're probably wondering what those two hangers are.... Some of you know I use oddball things on my projects. Well, these two thing-a-majigs are from my LED shoplights that my sweet son, Sam, hung for me in my Craft Palace. They are to hang the lights, but since the ceiling isn't very high in there, he hung them directly to the ceiling so I kept these hangers and used them on this layout. The metal was silver so I painted them with gold dabber. I have one more set! :-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
