What a shame only two chairs were left. How cool you two sat it them. I always wanted a be like that. It seems so exotic. I still am amazed the lady took you to the suite and stayed to take photos. You always meet the nicest people on your travels.
Gen. McArthur's office was small but nice. His desk and the chair behind it were reproductions but the two chairs in front of his desk were pieces of the original furniture that survived.
We were invited us to each sit in one of the original chairs and of course, Bill and I took pictures of each other.
The last room we visited was the Master's bedroom. We thought she meant “master bedroom” and asked her about it but she they called it the “Master's bedroom”. It was canopied in mosquito netting and decorated like a magazine photo. A large sitting room was in front of the bedroom but it was all one large room which could be divided with a curtain for bedroom privacy.
After leaving the Gen. McArthur suite suite we were talked back to the lobby where we joined a friend from cruise ship while she had a beer and we shared a Coke. We took advantage of the great internet signal and caught up on email and Facebook and were quickly on our way again.
