My SIL always said she wanted to try one of those wine and painting lessons things. So for her birthday I called around all the places around town...WOW! its sort of expensive. Luckily I have a friend who is an amazing artist. So I cut the price in half (gave it to my friend) and had the girls bring their own wine. We met up at our friends house, who had "made plans" with my SIL to go out for dinner, but "accidentaly forgot her wallet." So when she opened the garage door there we all were...SUPRISE!!! It was great! My SIL is the kind of person who makes everyone else feel special and rarely get the favor returned. Especially since her birthday is 5 days before Christmas....its usually hard to get everyone to make a fuss about it. So hence I felt really good that we were able to surprise her and give her the kind of evening she had always asked for.

SO I lifted this LO idea from a card I saw in the gallery. It really caught my eye and it reminded me of drops of paint on a paint tray. SO I leaned into it because I wasn't sure what other way to work around the birthday-painting party-wine theme featuring the Christmas canvases we painted (w/o any Christmas colors)! haha I did have fun painting all those circles with multiple shades to give some depth. Then I chalked the white semicircles and coated them with clear gloss. Thankfully my friend Jen has a million punches and happened to stop by my office the other day...punching those out was so much faster than cutting would have been. You also cannot see in the photo but all most all of them are lifted with pop dots. I finished it off with the stitching and "wine spills" and good to go.

PS. Forgive the bad choice of ink. I was hoping it would look like spilled wine, but it turned out really red and now just looks like paint (or blood). Apparently we drink really fruity wine...haha!
