My layout is about the family recipe for "kransikaka" which is a traditional Danish marzipan ring cake with icing. The journaling translates as follows: "My family's recipe for kransikaka comes from my grandma Lis. She brought the recipe with her from Denmark when she moved to Iceland in the year 1945. Everytime a family member had a milestone event she would bake a kransikaka. My mom has since baked kransikakas for her own descendants when there are special celebrations, like baptism, confirmation or wedding. Mom has made some improvements on the recipe through the years and the decorations have also changed as the years have passed. The classic white icing, Macintosh chocolates and Icelandic flags are now seldom used in my family. After my sister started decorating the cakes the icing is colorful and with different patterns and usually the name and occasion for the special event is written in icing on the cake. I have no doubt that this tradition that will keep going for years to come."
