Gorgeous clean and crisp design - love it! As for you DD, tell her there is something she doesn't know cheering her on and wishing her all the best as she follows her dreams!
Good for you, there are many jobs men think they are for MEN, and they are just kidding themselves. I think they are afraid of the competition that women are just as good or better!! Hold fast to your dream, you go girl
I say go for it!! I went to a technical High School and graduated with a trade certification in Carpentry. Our main project was a house we donated to Habitat for Humanity. I also built the house my grandparents live in. I know exactly what it is like to work in a male dominated industry...TOUGH! But it is so much fun building things...honestly I am supposed more woman aren't in the field...we are all Creators aren't we? Since then, I have changed my career and now work in Finance...another male dominated field. But I still have all the construction skills and professional skills I learned working with [only] men. And I use that knowledge all the time.
I hate that she's already facing discrimination, but I know you've taught her to be amazing so I'm sure she won't take it to heart. Alexis plans to go into a trade as well. This page is beautiful in so many different ways. I love the different wood patterns, and those are great photos of Ariel!
I love the clean, graphic look and what a terrific title!! I hope she'll continue to pursue her chosen field! My minor was Industrial Technology. There were 3 girls in my Construction classes. Still glad I have the skill det!
What a beautiful, brave girl. There is no reason she can't succeed in the building trade. My dad taught Wood Shop as I was growing up and was never allowed to teach any of us girls. He has girls in his classes just the last 2 years before he retired, and he had to move heaven and earth to get the rules changed. I know she will do well. I love your layout. Very clean and classy and so heart-felt.
This is for the May Music Inspiration Challenge. My song was "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack. The title is from part of the lyrics and I used the lyric word "Ocean" to find an appropriate quote.
