She has her (paternal) grandmother's eyes and her (maternal) great-grandmother's smile. She is 100% us!
When I first saw this picture I immediately saw her two grandmother's faces smiling back at me. What a wonderful feeling. Plus maybe its her features, or the old school bathing suit, but I also saw a vintage photo. So I played with the settings and made this print! And I had bought some of these papers for the vintage album I want to start working on. So it all sort of came together pretty easily. I knew I wanted to sew on the pieces of paper....similar to a quilt....both to reflect the old school vibe of the LO and the reference that she is a wonderful patchwork of two different families. Plus it totally works for my Music Inspiration this month...listen to this quote: "Momma sewed the rags together, Sewin' every piece with love." How perfect is that?? its from "Coat Of Many Colors" by DOLLY PARTON. I didn't actually use any words from the song on the LO. (lets face it....by 10:30pm last night, I was too tired to figure out more than the metaphor.)

The shells are from that day at the beach...she picked them out herself! and the "surf" tag has been hiding in my stash (hoard) for YEARS! It was given to me and I was saving it for just the right LO. I think this was it. I hope you like it. TFL!

Ps. I came up with the idea for this for the Embellishment Variety Challenge, but obviously totally ran out of time. It was a good effort...there are like 9 different types of embellishment on this LO. haha
