BEAUTIFUL is NOT what the first version of this layout was, honestly it was a mess. I love the way Gabrielle Pollacca inks or mists around her focal point and gave it a try by painting some twinkling H2O in the same shade as the iris, blue ice, on my paper...disaster! I tried it again the next day with some mists and was much happier. I have had the Swirly Doos Passion Rose kit for well over a year (yes hoarder supreme) and found the chipboard frame, laser cut butterflies and trellis in the kit. I also found a layout by Cherly Merrihew in their gallery that was my inspiration for tilting the frame.

Since moving my parents to a nursing home and dealing with their finances and every need, I haven't had time to do anything but dream about scrapping. But things have settled into a manageable rhythm and I got cooking. This lovely butterfly sat on my iris for nearly an hour allowing me to take lots of shots, the colors are awesome.

I threw all of my pent up scrappy energy into this, welding several harlequin patterns from the Cricut Artiste cartridge together to make a mask, embossing the frame and stenciling the title. I did manage to use the blue ice H2O's on the edges of the paper and on the texture paste harlequin mask, that iris was a tough bluish lavender! I used scraps of green paper to cut the leaves using Donna Salazar's rose diecut. It felt so good to be back in my scrappy corner!!!

Many thanks to Gabrielle and Cheryl for sharing their beautiful creations.
